Ru Kwok wins the first point for the team in the first set with a quick hit through the middle. Sloane follows this point with a five point serving run. AUS maintain their lead with well-executed passing from McEwen. Taylor Shulz shows her height with a kill block that lands in front of the hitter’s feet. Strong and fast hitting from the outside hitters help the team along. Kwok hitting B quicks through the middle for three fast kills. The AUS passing line becomes shaky near the end of the set but they finish the set with points to spare. 25-17

The lack of momentum from the last set continues into the second and the teams remain balanced until they reach double digits and Jen Sadler is subbed on court. Sadler serves nine points in a row and a kill block from Laird provides the team with a spark of energy. AUS picks up now and Schulz slams a ball in between the opposition’s libero’s legs. Sadler ‘pancakes’ a tip which is marvellously set by Sverns, the point finished off with a kill from Schulz. The pressure returns to South. Sverns setting up her hitters well and Judd is subbed on to serve three aces consecutively. The girl’s win the set 25 – 17.
SET 3 Aus defeated South Adelaide 25:16
Starting rotation: Paine, Judd, Kwok, Collins, Schulz, Stojanovic, McEwen (lib)
The third set begins with a good tool off the block by Sloane. McEwen reading the play well and picking up plenty of digs. AUS are given a quick five point lead with Sverns serving six successively. The team’s blocking at the net is unpassable with Kwok getting touches on everything. AUS wins the set 25-16.
